Thousands to March

On April 29, there will be marches in Springfield and Keene calling on politicians to pass laws stopping pollution. The focus is on pollution that causes climate change. "Climate change represents an urgent and potentially irreversible threat to human societies and the planet," according to the United Nations Paris Agreement, which was signed by the leaders of almost every nation in 2015.

Protecting forestland and farmland is one of the best ways to stop climate change. Climate change means more droughts and more floods, both of which make farming more difficult. Without successful farms, there is little food to eat. Politicians decide how much to invest in protecting open space, versus the military and tax cuts for billionaires.

The Springfield march will start at 3 p.m. at a location that will be announced soon at:

As of April 5, about 600 people had RSVP'd to the Vermont march, and about 600 to the Boston march.
