Freedom came on September 3 for the five people arrested by ICE on August 7 in Londonderry, Vermont. Londonderry is in Windham county. So is Brattleboro. The Valley Post appears to be the first news outlet to report this news.
In a September 4 email, Will Lambek of the Vermont group Migrant Justice told the Valley Post, “As of last night, all five have won their release and are back in Vermont! Four were released on bond, paid by the Vermont Freedom Fund, and one was ordered released by a federal judge when the government did not provide him with a bond hearing in the stipulated time frame. Their freedom would not have been possible without the mass outpouring of solidarity and care from their neighbors following this unjust and cruel detention.”

Northampton resident and state senator Joanne Comerford told the Valley Post on August 31, “I support prioritizing solar on the built environment. Always. This idea looks very interesting and I am investigating how we'd approach it in Massachusetts.” The idea she was referring to is solar panels between train tracks. On August 29, the New York Times reported that this is working so well in Switzerland that Italy, France and Korea are copying the idea.
