In Amherst, about 50 people marched to keep ICE out of Amherst, Devan Judson told the Valley Post. Judson is one of the organizers. The 1.4 mile march on February 6 went from the UMass Student Union to Amherst town hall. The organizers have a web page at:

On March 30, Brattleboro police chief Norma Hardy will retire. She is African American. She will be replaced by a white man, the town announced. Sally Cruz Nix is the town's human resources and finance director. On February 10, Cruz Nix told the Valley Post by email, “We have 10 department heads, and currently two identify as people of color. (Chief Hardy and I).” Sixteen percent of the town's 165 full-time, year-round employees are people of color, she said.
Brattleboro school board member Timothy Maciel told the Valley Post that 20 percent of the students in the town's public schools are people of color.
